________

HI I’M DANNY GOLUB.  I HAVE OVER 20 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE PERFORMING AND TEACHING.

I earned a degree in Studio Composition from the Conservatory of Music at Purchase College.  I have over 20 years of experience performing and 15 years working full time as a private instructor. In addition to engineering and producing dozens of projects for other musicians, I have written and recorded close to 10 albums of original music. I have studied all of my life to be able to play a wide variety instruments, produce music, and perform professionally. My experience has given me a unique ability to help kids find their way in music.

In my years of teaching, I have come across many different types of kids, from a variety of backgrounds. One thing I often notice is when a student just isn’t happy with the instrument they’re learning to play. I find this often sours their experience, and can lead to them wishing they weren’t at their lesson. With the assessment I offer, I can help students find their instrument, and their musical direction. Whether they want to play classical piano, jazz or rock drums,  electric guitar, or sing broadway songs. Maybe they are interested in electronic music and production, or film scoring. My lessons can take on many forms ensuring that the student remains engaged, and is happy to be there.

Students have often told me that my lessons are more than studying music, they feel therapeutic. Life can be confusing but I believe music lessons can give you an escape from that and something to look forward to. It’s important to me that every student walks away with music as part of their lives even if it isn’t their profession.
